The Office for Victims of Crime’s Legal Assistance for Crime Victims Initiative is collaborating with the National Crime Victim Law Institute to host a three-part webinar series designed to enhance the ability of attorneys to provide effective legal representation of child-victims regarding their rights in criminal cases.
On April 22, 2015, at 11am ( pacific time), the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will present a Web Forum discussion with NCVLI Staff Attorney Rebecca Khalil and Teresa Huizar on providing effective rights enforcement representation for child victims.

This year, NCVLI's National Crime Victim's Rights week event program includes opening remarks by Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, an award ceremony, and a panel discussion on: “Sexual Assault Victim Rights Across Campus, Civil & Criminal Justice Systems.” The event will be held at Portland State University. NCVLI’s annual Crime Victim Law Conference, now in its 14th year, continues to be the only national conference focusing on rights enforcement in criminal cases, which is a critical but often overlooked component of holistic victim services.The Conference provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to provide effective legal services to victims of crime. The Conference will take place May 28-29, 2015 in Portland, Oregon.
NCVLI is hosting its first annual Voices for Justice reception on January 27, 2015. We are proud to announce that Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, a long-time advocate for victims’ rights, will be our featured speaker and former Oregon Supreme Court Justice and NCVLI Board Member Paul De Muniz will emcee the event.
