Description:  Criminal restitution plays a key role in helping victims heal and survive after their offenders' conviction.  In this program, the presenters will review select state and federal cases from the past 12 months, articulate areas of celebration (or concern), and identify strategies for practitioners who must deal with the hurdles recent case law may present in their cases.

Note: For this training, we accidentally did not include attendance codes in the Powerpoint.  To confirm your participation in the training, please write down these three items from the training and use this information to complete your Certificate of Attendance form.

1. Please write down the citation from the case discussed in the Standing #1 example.
2. On Slide 22 (discussion of US v. Kaplan), did the 9th Circuit hold that the district court DID or DID NOT abuse their discretion in using replacement value to calculate the value of property.  Please choose between "Did" or "Did Not" and submit as your answer for this question.
