This session will provide an overview of defamation law and provide examples of common retaliatory tactics taken in recent years by abusers against survivors who speak out about gender-based violence and harassment at work and at school.  Experts will also discuss the challenges that survivors and their attorneys must navigate when they tell the survivor’s story publicly, whether it is in a lawsuit, in the press, in social media, or simply when the survivor is speaking with friends or colleagues.

CLE Credits: The Oregon State Bar has approved this training for 1.5 Access to Justice CLE credits (ID 121825).  NCVLI is a MCLE Multiple Activity Provider for the State Bar of California; this training is approved for 1.5 CLE credits in California.
